Online Relationship Therapy in New Jersey
You’ve already figured out what’s wrong. Let’s figure out how to change it.
You know the pattern. You can probably explain it in detail: where it started, why you do it, who taught it to you. Understanding it hasn’t been the hard part. Changing it has.
From the outside, your life mostly works; you’re functioning, capable, holding it together.
But underneath that, the same thing keeps showing up: the relationship that goes the same way twice, the boundary you can’t hold, the voice that tells you it’s your fault before you’ve even finished the sentence.
Therapy that only asks why rarely resolves that. This work asks a different question: why do I keep reacting this way, and how do I actually change it?
Trauma doesn’t stay in the past. It shows up in your next relationship.
Anxiety, trauma, and relationship trouble can look like separate problems. Often, they’re not: the way you learned to survive a difficult family, an inconsistent partner, or a chaotic home doesn’t disappear. It becomes how you read people, and what you believe you’re allowed to need.
My work traces that line, from what happened to you to how you relate now, so it stops feeling like a character flaw and starts making sense. Once it makes sense, it’s possible to build something different: more self-trust, boundaries that don’t require guilt, and relationships that don’t cost you yourself.
I draw on EMDR, Internal Family Systems, CBT, and the Gottman Method, not as a single method, but as a set of tools I use deliberately, depending on what you actually need.
